KEARNEY, Neb. – A strong and balanced Nebraska-Kearney offensive attack led the No. 7-ranked Lopers to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-23) sweep over Augustana Wednesday night in a non-conference volleyball match in Kearney, Neb.
Nebraska-Kearney improves to 4-1, while Augustana drops to 1-4.
UNK had four players with at least six kills.
Freshman Lindsey Peterson and sophomore
Jordan Spatenka both entered into double figures in kills for the Vikings, charting 10 each.
Dani Haley quarterbacked the Augustana offense from her setter position, finishing with 30 assists.

The Lopers started off strong in the opening set, gaining a double-figure lead to roll to the 25-11 set victory. UNK posted a blistering .485 hitting percentage in that first set.
Augustana led just once in the ensuing set--taking a 1-0 advantage on the opening serve--before being forced to play catch-up the remainder of the set.
Facing a 2-0 deficit, the Vikings battled close in the third and final set, never fighting from more than a three-point difference. The Lopers clinchd the win after a two-point run when the score was tied 23-23.
Augustana will continue play on Friday and Saturday when the Vikings travel to Rolla, Mo., to play in the “Middle of Everywhere” Classic. The Vikings' first match will be against Chadron State and is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. central time on Friday.
