ST. PAUL, Minn. - Zoraa Quoie scored a game-high 23 points for Concordia University, St. Paul to help her Golden Bears hand Augustana a 76-60 defeat Friday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference basketball in St. Paul, Minn.
CU improves to 10-8 (9-5 NSIC). Augustana falls to 15-6 (8-6 NSIC).
Three Golden Bears reached doubles as Jineen Williams had 18 points and Mandy Poke added 13.
Lydia Nelson led Augustana with 15 points.
Megan Doyle had 14 points and 11 rebounds to record her first double-double of the season.
Also scoring in double-figures was
Alex Feeney with 10 points.
CU opened the evening on a 12-4 run and never trailed the Vikings.
The Golden Bears' lead increased to as much as 18 behind the effort of Quoie and Williams, who scored 21 of CU's 38 first half points. Augustana trailed by 10 points at the break.
CU held the Vikings to a 27.6 field goal percentage in the first half.
Augustana's deficit remained in double-figures throughout the second half, extending to as much as 20 for the third time with just more than two minutes left of play.
The Golden Bears extended their winning streak to seven games with the vicotry
CU had nine blocked shots, a season high.
Augustana shot just 31.6 percent from the field in the evening. CU shot 45.6 percent.
The Vikings will face St. Cloud State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
