SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Winona State used a goal by Alaina Kne in the 40th minute of action to top Augustana 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer.
WSU remains undefeated in conference action, improving to 6-2-1 (4-0-0). The Vikings drop to 5-4-0 (2-2-0).
Stacy Dally led the Vikings with three shots, two on goal.
The Warriors outshot Augustana 12-7. WSU had 10 shots in the first half.
At 39:55, Kne received a pass right in front of the goal from Melissa Sellier to knock the ball in the back of the net past Augustana's
Amanda Wagner.
Wagner made eight saves in the game, seven in the first half.
Augustana provided itself with a couple opportunities to score in the second half.
Maren Werth fired a corner kick to Dally who attempted to knock in a header in the 60th minute, but Anna Beipedio made the save for the Warriors.
The Vikings had three corner kicks in the final 14 minutes of action and were unsuccessful at finding the back of the net each time.
Belpedio made five saves in the game for WSU.
Augustana hosts Upper Iowa tomorrow at 1 p.m.
