Series records
Augustana trails Minnesota Duluth 3-8 in the series. When the Vikings faced UMD earlier this season, Aleisha Oehlerking recorded a hat trick, scoring all three goals for Augustana. Oehlerking's effort was not enough as UMD broke a 3-3 tie, registering two goals in the last minute of action for the 5-3 victory. Barkus is 3-5 against the Bulldogs.
Last time out
Stacy Dally scored a pair of goals for Augustana, allowing the Vikings a 2-1 win over Concordia University, St. Paul last Saturday afternoon. But Augustana's three-game win streak came to a halt on Sunday as St. Cloud State scored in the 26th minute of action to defeat the Vikings 1-0.

Below is a breakdown of the quarterfinal pairings for the NSIC/U.S. Bank Women's Soccer Tournament.

No. 5 U-Mary at No. 4 St. Cloud State, 5 p.m.
No. 7 Bemidji State at No. 2 Minnesota State, 1 p.m.
No. 6 Augustana at No. 3 Minnesota Duluth, 1 p.m.
NSIC Tournament appearances
Augustana is 0-2 in its two appearances in the NSIC Tournament since joining the league in 2008. Last season the Vikings suffered a 2-1 loss to Bemidji State. Former Viking Stephanie Goos booted in a goal to knot the score at 1-1 in the 60th minute of action, but BSU's Jenny Stromberg broke the tie in the 82nd minute to give the Beavers the late lead. In 2008, Augustana fell to Northern State 2-0 in the opening round of the NSIC Tournament.
Scouting Minnesota Duluth
Riley Allen scored Minnesota Duluth's lone goal that handed Minnesota State its first conference loss last Sunday. UMD also shut out Southwest Minnesota State 2-0 last weekend to finish 10-3-0 in NSIC contests. The Bulldogs' three conference losses have come at Minnesota State Moorhead, Winona State and U-Mary. Maureen Stormont has nine goals on the season to lead the Bulldogs and help UMD outscore its opponents 31 to 19. Four of Stormont's goals have been game winning, including the goal she recorded against the Vikings earlier this season. Dani Potter, Kelsey Gratz, Kelli Klun and Reegan Lloyd also scored for UMD in its game against Augustana. Hanna Iaizzo has started every game in the goal for the Bulldogs and has a .817 save percent.
NSIC honors
Two Vikings have received NSIC awards this season. Jessie Huff was named Offensive Player of the Week Oct. 24 and Amanda Wagner earned the honor of NSIC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 12.
On the roster
Augustana's 2011 roster is its largest in program history with 34 athletes. Out of the 20 players returning for the Vikings, Jessie Huff and Kate Timmons were selected by the NSIC coaches as Offensive and Defensive Preseason Players to Watch, respectively.
The coach
Brandon Barkus is in his sixth season as the head women's soccer coach at Augustana. In addition to his head coaching duties, Barkus is an instructor in the Augustana HPER department, coaches the Dakota Alliance girls' soccer team and serves the South Dakota Youth Soccer Association. Barkus has compiled a career record of 51-51-12 since his appointment as head coach. The Vikings compiled an overall record of 8-9-2 in 2010, including a 7-5-1 mark and a tie for fifth place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

History lesson
Viking soccer enters its 12th year of competition in 2011. Augustana owns an all-time record of 75-136-15 with one NCAA tournament appearance in 2008.
Captains
Brandon Barkus has announced that senior midfielder Stacy Dally, junior midfielder Jessica Perez and senior defender Kate Timmons are captains of this year's squad. This marks Timmons second season as captain of the Vikings.
