Vikings beat Southwest Minnesota State on road

MARSHALL, Minn. -
Haley Berner scored in the 23rd minute to lead Augustana to a 1-0 win over Southwest Minnesota State Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer in Marshall, Minn.

Augustana improves to 6-5 (3-3 NSIC), while SMSU falls to 4-6 (3-3 NSIC).

Berner scored the game-winning goal by taking a blocked shot by Stacy Dally and pushing it in unassisted.  It was Berner's first goal of the season.  She had four shots in the Viking win.

Jessie Huff added six shots--four on goal--for Augustana.

Amanda Wagner got her sixth win of the season in the net; she made one save.  Ashley Limmer saw her first action of the season at goalkeeper and worked the entire second half and stopped two balls.

Kelly Fitzgerald's five shots (one on goal) paced the Mustangs.  Sonya Smith made 10 saves for SMSU.

Augustana will play at Minnesota State tomorrow at 1 p.m.
