MANKATO, Minn. - Tori Meinhardt led Minnesota State to a 3-0 victory over Augustana, scoring 2 goals Sunday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer.
Its the second time the Mavericks have defeated Augustana this season as they improve to 10-1-1 (7-0-0 NSIC). Augustana falls to 6-6-0 (3-4-0 NSIC).
Minnesota State outshot Augustana 22-6.
Stacy Dally led the Vikings with 3 shots.
Paige Lynam and
Sierra Erickson recorded Augustana's only two shots on goal.
Minnesota State found the back of the net three times in the first period. MSU's first goal was scored just over five minutes into action. Meinhardt scored back to back goals for the Mavericks in the 29th and 34th minutes.
Amanda Wagner made two saves in the second period for the Vikings, stopping a total of nine shots in the game.
Augustana visits Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State next Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
