- Augustana recorded 31 points off turnovers and had five Vikings in double-figure scoring to cruise to an 84-44 non-conference victory over Mount Marty Saturday afternoon.

Augustana improves to 2-1 on the season, while MMC (6-4) counted the game as an exhibition.

Shaunteva Ashley led the Vikings in scoring with 13 points, and Andrea Whitney recorded her first-career double-double with career-highs in both points (12) and rebounds (12).

Emily Bose, Cami Koehn and Faith Tinklenberg rounded out Augustana's double-digit scoring effort, tallying 10 points each.

Whitney made a layup at 15:33 to give Augustana an early 12-0 lead and MMC made its first basket of the game 27 seconds later.

The Vikings stretched their advantage to 29-10 after Whitney dumped in a bucket underneath the net at the 8:21 mark.  Augustana used the next six minutes to build a 22-point lead, its largest of the half.

Augustana held a 38-18 advantage at the break and allowed the Lancers to shoot just 20 percent from the field in the first half, including 0 of 11 from 3-point range.

The second half opened with a 10-4 Viking run and Augustana never looked back, eventually gaining a 40 point lead to end the game.

The Vikings outshot MMC 48.6 percent to 22.0 percent from the field and 38.6 percent to 13.6 percent from behind the arc.

Augustana notched 36 of its points off the bench.

The Vikings return to their home court Tuesday to face Dakota State for their last non-conference game of the season. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
