Mackenzie Trom fired a goal less than two minutes into the second half to lift Augustana to a 1-0 victory over Wayne State Sunday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference soccer.
Augustana improves to 5-3-0 (2-1 NSIC), while Wayne State falls to 3-4-1 (0-3 NSIC).
Maren Werth lead the Vikings with four shots, Trom added three with two on goal.
The Vikings' defense kept Wayne State at bay, allowing only one shot on goal in the game.
Wayne State's only chance to score was in the 32nd minute of the first half but the shot was saved by
Amanda Wagner. It was her only save of the game.
Trom broke a scoreless tie on a penalty kick in the 47th minute of action. She continues to lead the team with four goals on the season.
The Vikings welcome Winona State on Saturday (11 a.m.) and Upper Iowa on Sunday (1 p.m.).
