BURNSVILLE, Minn. –
Alex Feeney led Augustana to its sixth-consecutive win with a 71-52 victory over No. 6 Wayne State to be named player of the week by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference on Monday.
Feeney, a junior forward from Bismarck, N.D., netted a career and game-high 25 points and also picked up a game-high 11 rebounds to help the Vikings snap WSC's six-game winning streak. The double-double marked Feeney's fifth of the season. She was 9 of 16 from the field (56.3 percent) and 6 of 7 (85.7 percent) from the foul line in Augustana's lone game of the week. Feeney also tallied two assists and one block.
This marks the second time in the past three weeks Feeney has been named NSIC Player of the Week. She also received the honor on Jan. 4.
Augustana will battle to keep its winning streak intact this weekend at Upper Iowa and Winona State.
