Shaunteva Ashley scored a career-high 21 points to lead No. 12 Augustana over Hawaii Pacific 73-49 to close out the Oahu Classic. The Vikings remain perfect at 4-0 and the Sea Warriors fall to 2-3.
Ashley led all scorers with 21 and shot 9-10 on free throws.
Emily Schulte reached double digits for the second consecutive game with 13 points and racked up three steals.
The Vikings forced 19 turnovers, converting them into 24 points. The Vikings also collected 12 offensive rebounds and scored nine second chance points while the Sea Warriors scored just two.
Augustana and Hawaii Pacific traded buckets until a 16-16 tie when Schulte dropped in a layup to go ahead and didn't face a deficit since. The Vikings took an 11-point lead into halftime after a first half which featured seven lead changes and four ties.
Ashley entered the break with 15 points, hitting 4-5 field goals including two three point buckets. Schulte entered the half with 10 points on 4-6 shooting with a pair of three-pointers as well.
In the second half, Augustana continued to build a lead and coasted to their 73-49 victory.
Alex Feeney and
Cami Koehn led the offense with nine and seven points, respectively. Faith TInklenberg ripped down eight rebounds in the second half and finished with a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Vikings return home to open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action against No. 10 Wayne State on Dec. 1 at 4 p.m.
