CLERMONT, Fla. -
No. 23 Augustana stretched its winning streak 10 games by defeating Hillsdale 8-0 in six innings and Mount Vernon Nazarene 10-0 in five innings at the Monday National Training Center Spring Games.

Augustana improves to 18-3.

In Game 1, Hillsdale loaded the bases in the top of the first against Ashley Meyer with no outs but was turned away when Meyer got Jennifer Berlet to pop up to left field and then struck out the next two batters.

The Vikings then got on the board right away, taking a 2-0 lead when Jenelle Trautmann's two-run home run brought Jenny Brown home in the bottom of the first.

Augustana continued to score runs in the second; Chelsi Winskowski doubled then later scored on Theresa McMahon's single.  McMahon followed by scoring on Trautmann's sacrifice fly.

Lindsay Spanton led off the third with a single before stealing a base and scoring on Brittany Coufal's sacrifice fly.

In the fourth inning, McMahon and Elizabeth Murray each walked and were brought home on Chelsey Durland's RBI-double.

The Vikings ended the game early when Erin Kempf crossed the plate in the bottom of the sixth after Kelsey Kalkman hit a double.

Trautmann finished the game with a season-high five RBIs.

Meyer pitched 4.0 innings to earn the victory with five strikeouts and only five hits allowed despite loading the bases.

In Game 2, Trautmann overpowered Mount Vernon Nazarene from the pitching circle, giving up only one hit with eight strikeouts in 4.0 innings pitched.  Durland threw the final inning to seal the victory.

After scoring only once in the first three innings, Augustana broke out in the top of the fourth, scoring nine runs.

Erin Kempf, who replaced Kalkman as a pinch runner after Kalkman's lead-off single, scored after moving around the bases on a sacrifice bunt, a wild pitch and Jones' single.  Jones scored when McMahon blasted a single.

Taylor Kapsch and McMahon then scored on Jenny Brown's single, and Brown crossed the plate when Murray reached on an error by the left fielder.  Murray scored when Trautmann had her second hit of the contest. E.J. Scharmer replaced Trautmann on the base paths and scored on Kalkman's second hit of the inning, a double.

Kalkman scored on WInskowski's double, and Winskowski scored the final run of the inning on Jones' single.
