BISMARCK, N.D. -
No. 22 Augustana won 3-0 and 1-0 in a conference doubleheader against the University of Mary on Sunday.

Augustana improves to 23-4 (3-1 NSIC) while U-Mary drops to 11-8 (1-3 NSIC).

In Game 1, Augustana's Ashley Meyer (11-2) threw 7.0 shutout innings and didn't allow a walk to earn the victory.

Chelsi Winskowski started the game with a single up the middle before taking second after a rundown and scoring on Jenny Brown's RBI single.

The Vikings stretched the lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth when Lindsay Spanton hit the team's lone double of the game into right center to lead off.  Spanton scored in the inning on a close play at home when Chelsey Durland's ground ball to second was thrown to the plate on a fielder's choice.  Kelsey Kalkman scored the second run of the inning on an error by U-Mary's Desiree Smith.

Winskowski and Durland each were 2 for 3 in the game.

In Game 2, Augustana and U-Mary traded outs and scattered hits until the top of the seventh inning when Theresa McMahon, who pinch ran for Trautmann scored after a collision at the plate with Smith.

Trautmann (10-2) earned the victory after throwing 6.1 innings and Durland earned her third save of the season with 0.2 innings thrown and one strike out.

Augustana managed just three hits before the first four batters of the last inning combined for three hits and a walk.

Trautmann led off the seveth inning with a single up the middle, then was replaced by McMahon at first.  After Spanton earned a walk on a full count, Kalkman hit a single into right field that moved each runner up a base.  Durland followed with the biggest hit of the game-a single that landed just into right field, scoring McMahon.

Augustana has its home opener next week against Southwest Minnesota State on March 28, the University of Sioux Falls on March 29, Bemidji State on March 31 and Minnesota Duluth on April 1.
