ROCHESTER, Minn. - Clare Duwelius made a 3-pointer as time expired to lift No. 2 Wayne State to a 62-59 victory over No. 22 Augustana in the finals of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament on Sunday.   

WSC is now 29-2 and the Vikings drop to 23-6.

Alex Feeney netted 12 of her game-high 22 points in the first half to lead the Vikings.

Molly Hayes recorded 13 points and Lydia Nelson contributed 11.

Whitney Epp was one of four Wildcats in double-figures. She led WSC with 14 points and Ashley Arlen recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. 

Augustana took its first lead of the game, 10-8, after Hayes forced a WSC turnover and Nelson took it to the bucket, hitting a 3-pointer at 15:24.

The Vikings built their lead to 15-11 before WSC used 17-3 run that lasted 9 minutes and 17 seconds to go ahead 28-17. Augustana was 0 of 11 from the field during the stretch.

Hayes fired a shot from behind the arc as time expired in the half to erase the Vikings' double-figure deficit.  

The Wildcats' bench outscored Augustana's bench 17-0 in the first 20 minutes to help WSC to a 35-26 lead at intermission.

Augustana made 9 of 30 (30.0 percent) from the field in the opening half and finished the game shooting 33.3 percent (21 of 63).

The Vikings held WSC scoreless for the opening 3 minutes, 58 seconds of the second half to knot the score 35-35.

Nelson's jumper at 11:52 finished off a 9-4 run that gave Augustana a 42-39 lead, but the Wildcats scored the next six points to take the advantage.

With 1:50 left in the game, Nelson hit a pair of free throws to tie the score 55-55.

It tied again 59-59 with 21 seconds on the clock when Feeney sandwiched a WSC layup with two jumpers.

Duwelius' 3-pointer at the buzzer gave WSC the victory. 

WSC connected on 25 of 56 from the floor (44.6 percent) in the game.

Augustana made all 11 of its free throws.

Both teams collected 10 steals.

Augustana will find out where it will be seeded for the NCAA Tournament tonight around 9 p.m.
