SIOUX FALLS, S.D.
- Augustana begins a crucial three-match home stand Tuesday night against No. 17 Wayne State (15-6, 6-5 NSIC) at 7 p.m. in the Elmen Center. This week, the Vikings (16-3, 8-3 NSIC) will face three opponents who are all in the top six of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference standings, including two teams ranked in the AVCA Top 25.

The Vikings bounced back from the loss that snapped their six-match winning streak with two commanding road wins last weekend. Augustana downed Winona State and Upper Iowa in three sets improving their record to 13-1 in three-set matches.

Augustana welcomed a few new members to the record books over the weekend on top of their wins. Holly Hafemeyer became the 21st Augustana volleyball player to record 1,000 career kills. Hafemeyer's 1,026 career kills currently ranks 20th all-time in Augustana volleyball history. Head coach Ashley Buckley also etched her name in the Viking record books by winning her 100th career match, becoming the fourth Augustana head coach to hit the century mark.

Despite two more wins, the Vikings remained on the outside of the AVCA Top 25 poll. For the third consecutive week, and fourth this season, Augustana has appeared in the "receiving votes" section of the poll, meaning they were placed on at least two ballots from the coaches who voted. This week, the Vikings check in at No. 27 with 39 points.

Augustana snapped a three-match skid against Wayne State with a sweep on the Wildcats' home court earlier this season. The Vikings hold a 22-14-1 edge over WSC, including an 11-5 record at the Elmen Center. Since joining the NSIC in 2008, the Vikings are only 3-8 against Wayne State while dropping all five home matches in that span.

The Vikings return to the court on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.to face St. Cloud State before ending their home stand against No. 4 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m.
