SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- The Eighth ranked Augustana begins its journey back to the NCAA Championships at the talent-packed National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic. The Vikings will play four games in pool play on Feb. 15 and 16 then two more games with opponents determined after their first four games on Feb. 17.
Augustana will face Southeastern Oklahoma State for the first time in program history to open the season on Friday at 10 a.m. On the second leg of a doubleheader, Augustana will face No. 2 UC-San Diego, a team who also made the NCAA Championships last spring. The Vikings play the Tritons at noon.
On day two, the Vikings match up with another Top 25 team in No. 16 Central Oklahoma at 10 a.m. once again. The Vikings will then face Missouri-St. Louis at 3 p.m. to close out pool play. After the conclusion of the tournament, the Vikings will have 20 days off before the Rebel Spring Games in March.
