TUCSON, Ariz. - Eighth-ranked Augustana plated two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to take down No. 16 Central Oklahoma to open day two of the NFCA Leadoff Classic. The Vikings improve to 2-1 on the season and the Bronchos now sit at 4-3.
Jenelle Trautmann threw all nine innings to earn her second win of the season.
The Vikings faced a 3-2 deficit in the bottom of the ninth, but Augustana pushed across two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the game from the clenches of the Central Oklahoma squad.
Lindsay Spanton scored the game-winning run to hand Augustana its second victory in 2013.
The Vikings will close out pool play with a 3 p.m. game against Missouri-St. Louis.
