BOX SCORE KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Augustana softball's three-game win streak was snapped with a 2-1 loss to Long Island University-Post on Thursday morning. This is the Vikings' (8-4) second walkoff loss during their spring trip.

The Vikings only mustered three hits and Jennelle Trautmann was saddled with her third loss of the year despite scattering seven hits in 6.2 innings.

After three innings of play, the Vikings finally broke the scoring drought when
Jenny Brown reached on an error and scored on
Lindsay Spanton's line drive single to center field.

The Vikings never scored in the final three stanzas, leaving the door open for the Pioneers to come back.  LIU-Post evened the score in the sixth inning after Trautmann walked the eventual tying run. Aly Dzierzynski was advanced to second on a sacrifice and scored on a ground ball that squirted through the left side.

Brittany Coufal reached on an error with one out in the top of the seventh, but
Carly Peterson grounded into a 6-4-3 double play.

Trautmann forced a groundout from the Pioneer leadoff hitter and struck out the next batter, but it was all LIU-Post for the rest of the seventh.  Trautmann walked the next batter and gave up a hit which scored Alexis Gonzalez to end the game, 2-1 in favor of the Pioneers.

Brown's hitting streak reached 12 games with her leadoff single in the top of the sixth and Spanton and
Erin Kempf were the only other Vikings to tally a hit in the game.

The Vikings now face Illinois Springfield at 2 p.m. before resuming action against Tiffin from their suspended game on March 12 at 6:30 p.m.
