SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana (22-6) travels to Rochester, Minn. to take on Concordia-St. Paul (23-5) in the semifinals of the NSIC/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m.
The Vikings earned the No. 3 seed in the South Division and knocked off Minot State, 66-51, in the first round and U-Mary, 74-59, in the quarterfinals. Concordia-St. Paul won the NSIC regular season championship with a 19-3 conference record, earned the No. 1 seed for the South Division, and is ranked No. 20 in the most recent
USA Today Sports Coaches' Poll.
The Golden Bears handed the Vikings two of their six losses this season and were the only team to defeat Augustana by double digits this season. The Vikings will be looking to exact revenge and improve their NCAA Central Region ranking.
The Vikings were ranked seventh in the Feb. 27 edition of the Central Region rankings. The top eight schools will earn a berth in the NCAA Central Region Tournament. Concordia-St. Paul is the third seed, the highest among NSIC member institutions.
