SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana head softball coach
Gretta Melsted announced on Friday afternoon that the Vikings will host Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul this weekend. First pitch for the MSU doubleheader was tentatively set for 2:30 p.m. and Sunday's twinbill with CU will commence at 12 p.m.
Augustana is on a 10-game winning streak entering the weekend but have struggled recently against the Mavericks losing their last six games. The Vikings do hold a 60-42 edge in the series and look to expand on that margin this weekend.
Both teams debuted in the top six of the Central Region rankings on Wednesday. MSU came in at No. 3 and the Vikings checked in as the sixth-ranked team.
Augustana has performed well against Concordia-St. Paul, winning 75 percent of their games against the Golden Bears. The Vikings have won their past eight meetings with CU and lead 18-6 in the overall series.
