SIOUX FALLS, S.D.
- Augustana returns home to co-host the inaugural NSIC Challenge on Sept. 13 and 14.  The Vikings welcome South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and Drury (Mo.) on Friday at 2 and 7 p.m., respectively.  On day two, Augustana faces Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western State at 2 and 7 p.m.

The Vikings rolled their way to a 4-0 record and the unofficial tournament title to open the season in Anchorage, Alaska.  Leading Augustana was senior middle blocker Holly Hafemeyer who earned tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.  Setter Marissa Johnson and outside hitter Courtney Ysker joined her on the all-tournament team.

The Vikings' 4-0 start is the best since 2008 -- the year they last made the NCAA tournament.  Equally impressive was Augustana's lone set loss in the four wins which ties the fewest sets lost in the opening four matches with the 1994 Viking squad.

After their final non-conference tournament, the Vikings open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference competition by hosting Southwest Minnesota State on Thursday Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.
