SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana College football (4-3, 1-2 NSIC South) looks to build off its down-to-the-wire win at Wayne State last Saturday beginning a two-game homestand this Saturday, Oct. 25, hosting No. 1 Minnesota State University, Mankato (7-0, 3-0 NSIC South). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.
Augustana is coming off a 52-48 win at Wayne State last week where
Trey Heid led the team on a game-winning drive in the final minute of the game. Heid finished the game with six touchdown passes, tying the single game record at Augustana, and earned NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Heid also tied an NCAA Division II record for touchdown in a quarter throwing five of his six in the second stanza.
The Mavericks picked up their seventh win of the season at home last Friday, defeating Concordia-St. Paul 38-6. Saturday's game will feature two of the top three offensive and defensive teams in the league as MSU leads the NSIC scoring offense (47.1) and scoring defense (10.4). Augustana ranks third in both scoring offense (37.9) and scoring defense (20.3).
