SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana College men's basketball begins a busy two week stretch starting with Mayville State on Monday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Elmen Center. The Vikings will then play their first game at the Sioux Falls Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 19, hosting Dakota State at 8 p.m.
Augustana will then return to the Elmen Center on Saturday to host presentation at 5 p.m. before hosting Wayne State on Monday, Nov. 24 in the NSIC opener at the Sioux Falls Arena at 5 p.m.
The Vikings opened the season going 2-0 at the Sanford Pentagon Basketball Showcase last weekend. Augustana used a balanced attack to earn an 87-82 win over Washburn University on Friday night and shot 56 percent from the field in an 86-69 win over Pittsburg State on Saturday.
Casey Schilling earned NSIC South Division Player of the Week honors after averaging 24 points and 12 rebounds in the two wins. Schilling finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds on Friday night before picking up 25 and 12 on Saturday for his 10th and 11th career double-doubles. Schilling shot 72 percent from the field on the weekend and also dished out seven assists.
Alex Richter also had a big weekend for Augustana after missing all of last season due to injury. Richter averaged 17.5 points and hit six 3-pointers while shooting 61 percent from the field on the weekend.
