The Augustana College men's cross country team turned in a dominating performance on the way to its third straight NCAA Central Region Championship on Saturday. Harald Karbo won the men's individual title and was one of seven Viking runners to finish in the top 15. Leah Seivert's runner-up finish helped the women's team to second place, securing their ninth straight bid to the NCAA Championships.

Augustana's men will be making their sixth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships which will be held Dec. 6 in Louisville, Ky., in conjunction with the NCAA Division II Fall Festival.

"The coaching staff is extremely proud of our teams finishes today," head coach Tracy Hellman said. "We always are looking towards nationals and to punch our tickets to Louisville is very exciting."

Two freshmen were the top finishers for the Vikings at the Central Region Championships led by Leah Seivert, who was in fifth place at the midway point of the 6,000-meter race and made a push to finish second overall, finishing just nine seconds out of first place. Annie Kruse placed ninth overall with a time of 21:56.93 and was followed closely behind by Meritxell Delgado who finished 10th in 22:06.79.
