Storylines• No. 13 Augustana softball (31-8, 14-4 NSIC) returns to Bowden Field on Tuesday, April 15 to start a six-game homestand.
• The Vikings will open the six-game stretch with Southwest Minnesota State (11-22-1, 8-9-1 NSIC) on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Bowden Field.
• The Vikings will then play its final home games of the season on Friday and Saturday hosting Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State.
• Augustana and Concordia-St. Paul (12-24, 7-9 NSIC) will hit the field at noon on Friday.
• Minnesota State (32-6, 16-0 NSIC) visits Bowden Field on Saturday with first pitch set for noon.
• Augustana's 31-8 record marks the sixth straight season of 30-plus wins for the Vikings, all under the direction of eighth-year head coach

Senior Day• Augustana softball will recognize its lone senior,
Lindsay Spanton, between Saturday's doubleheader with Minnesota State.
• Spanton is a four-year letterwinner for the Vikings and owns a career .349 batting average.
• She has played in 208 career games, making 200 career starts and has 210 career hits, including 48 doubles, one triple and 23 home runs.
• Spanton has driven in 133 runs in her career and stolen seven bases in eight attempts.
• She is having one of the best hitting years of her career in 2014, batting .416 with 13 doubles, four home runs and 30 RBI.
• She currently ranks second all-time with 88 career walks, fourth with seven career sacrifice flies, sixth with 48 career doubles, seventh with a .441 career on-base percentage, ninth with a .983 career fielding percentage and 10th with 133 career walks.
National news• Augustana is ranked 13th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches' Association Top 25 poll.
• The Vikings were ranked 22nd in the NFCA preseason poll.
• The Vikings are 3-2 against ranked opponents this season.
• In the first game of the season, Augustana took down the defending national champion and No. 1 ranked team in Central Oklahoma.

Last time out• Augustana went 3-1 over the weekend splitting a twinbill at Minnesota Duluth on Friday and sweeping another at St. Cloud State on Saturday.
• The Vikings opened the weekend with a 4-1 loss at Minnesota Duluth before taking down the Bulldogs 9-2 in the nightcap.
• In the UMD series, Nichol went 4 for 8 at the plate with two home runs and four RBI.

Carley Pickett struck out a season-high seven batters in the nightcap with the Bulldogs to earn her eighth win of the season.
• Augustana picked up wins 30 and 31 in a sweep over St. Cloud State pouring on the runs with a 10-0 game-one win and a 7-1 victory in the finale.
• The Vikings jumped all over the Huskies in game one scoring five runs in the second inning.
• Nichol continued to swing a hot bat picking up a career-high four hits while going 4 for 4 with a double and a home run.

Jenelle Trautmann smacked a home run in game one to give her 42 career dingers to bring her within one of tying the career record.
• She also snagged her 20th win of the season moving to 20-3 while striking out six batters.
• Trautmann then went 3 for 4 with two RBI in game two as the Vikings overcame a 1-0 deficit after one inning going for six runs on eight hits in the top of the fourth inning.

Jenelle Trautmann has hit 42 career home runs at Augustana, bringing her one shy of tying the career record of 43 which was achieved by her former teammate and current coach
Theresa McMahon (2010-13).
• Trautmann hit 38 home runs in two seasons, blasting 18 during her freshman campaign and 18 more last season as a sophomore.
• Trautmann, a junior, is on pace to hit 70-plus career home runs, which would shatter the current record.
About Southwest Minnesota State• Southwest Minnesota State enters the mid-week doubleheader with an 11-22-1 record on the season, including 8-9-1 in the NSIC.
