SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Jenelle Trautmann made history in a big way on Friday afternoon as she became Augustana's all-time leader in home runs as she blasted three in game one against Concordia-St. Paul (15-27, 10-12 NSIC). The Vikings (35-8, 18-4 NSIC) hit seven home runs on the day as they won game one 10-3 and the nightcap 8-1.

Augustana is currently ranked third in the NCAA Central Region rankings.

In game two, Trautmann set a single game record at No. 17 Augustana after being intentionally walked four times. Trautmann finished the day going 3 for 4 with three home runs and six RBI and was the winner in the circle for game one after tossing six innings and striking out six batters to improve to 22-3 on the season.

Augustana got hits from all nine players in the doubleheader, with seven players recording at least two hits. Mackenzie Alstott finished the day going 4 for 6 with a double and Lindsay Spanton was 3 for 7 with two home runs and five RBI.

Game one
Concordia-St. Paul struck first scoring two runs on two hits and one Vikings error in the top of the first inning to go up 2-0. But the Vikings quickly answered back scoring three runs on three hits, including Trautmann's record setting home run to take their first lead of the day at 3-2.

Mackenzie Alstott and Sarah Kennedy hit back-to-back one-out singles in the bottom of the first and it took just one swing for Trautmann to etch her name into Augustana's career record book as she blasted one into the wind to left center field for her eighth home run of the season.

Augustana looked to get out of the top of the second inning maintaining its one-run lead but the Golden Bears pushed across another unearned run to tie the game at 3-3. With two outs in the inning, Emily Shinn walked and Teona Zepeda followed with a double to put runners on second and third. The inning looked to be over but a dropped pop up in the infield allowed the tying run to score.

After two innings of scoreless softball the Vikings broke the tie in the bottom of the fourth inning plating an unearned run as Alstott reached on an error. With two outs in the inning, Maddie Merriam singled up the middle before Caitlin Nichol was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. Alstott then reached on an error by the shortstop and Merriam came around to score to put the Vikings up 4-3.

Trautmann stepped up to the plate to lead off the bottom of the fifth and blasted her second home run of the game to center field to give Augustana a 5-3 lead. The Vikings then went off for five runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth to go up 10-3.

In the inning, Trautmann blasted her third home run of the game and the 46th of her career, a two-run shot to left field. Spanton then stepped to the plate and hit a solo shot to left field for the fifth run of the inning.
