SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 23 Augustana College softball (46-13) will host Southeastern Oklahoma State University (41-18) in the Central Super Regional this Friday and Saturday. The best-of-three series will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday at Bowden Field. First pitch for game two is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday with game three (if necessary) set for 2:30 p.m. Augustana is hosting the super-regional for the third time since 2011 and is the fourth seed in the Central Region Tournament. Southeastern Oklahoma State is the seventh seed in the tournament. The winner of the three-game series will advance to the NCAA Championships in Salem, Va., May 22-26. 

Breaking down the Central Region 1 Tournament
• Augustana won the Central Region 1 Tournament and advanced to the Central Super Regional with three wins in Winona, Minn. last weekend. 
• Augustana opened the weekend with an 8-7 win over Missouri Western State on a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning by Sarah Kennedy
• Augustana then came out on top of a pitcher's duel defeating tournament-host Winona State 2-1 to advance to the championship game. 
• In the championship game, Augustana erased a seven-run deficit scoring eight runs in the sixth and seventh innings to defeat Winona State 9-8 and advance to the Central Super Regional. 
• This marks the third time Augustana has hosted the Super Regional since 2011.
• Augustana batted. 304 on the weekend and hit two doubles and five home runs while scoring 19 runs.  

Augustana in NCAA postseason
• Augustana is making its 22nd NCAA Softball Tournament appearance in school history. 
• Augustana has qualified for the regional tournament in five straight seasons. 
• Augustana's last appearance in the national championships came in 2012. 
• The 2012 trip to the national championships marked the first time since 1998. 
• Augustana softball has won one Division II National Championship, that coming during the 1991 season. 
• Augustana is 52-42 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. 

Conference/regional award winners
• Augustana softball had five players named to the All-NSIC team last week. 
Lindsay Spanton and Jenelle Trautmann were named All-NSIC First Team. 
Sarah Kennedy, Mackenzie Alstott and Carley Pickett were all named to the All-NSIC Second Team. 
• Trautmann has been named to the All-NSIC First Team in three straight seasons. 
• Spanton has earned all-conference honors twice during her career at Augustana, being named second team as a sophomore.
• Kennedy, Alstott and Pickett were all named All-NSIC for the first time in their careers.
• Trautmann was recently named to the Daktronics All-Central Region Second Team. 

Making history
• Junior Jenelle Trautmann made history in a big way on Friday, April 18, becoming Augustana's all-time leader in home runs. 
• Trautmann entered the game needing one to break the school record of 43 career home runs which was set by her former teammate Theresa McMahon (2010-13). 
• Trautmann blasted three home runs against Concordia-St. Paul on April 18 to break the record while also tying a single game record with three home runs in the game. 
• Trautmann has hit 54 career home runs and has 18 on the season.
• She is one home run shy of breaking the single season record for home runs, which she holds the record for twice. 
• Trautmann hit 18 home runs as a freshman in 2012 and 18 more as a sophomore last season. 

1,400 wins and counting
• With a win in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday, April 25 at Minot State, Augustana softball won its 1,400th game in program history.
• In the 42nd season of softball at Augustana, the program owns an overall record of 1,409-589-3.
• In 42 seasons, the Augustana softball program has recorded 34 winning seasons. 

National news
• Augustana is ranked 23rd in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches' Association Top 25 poll. 
• The Vikings were ranked 22nd in the NFCA preseason poll. 
• The Vikings are 7-6 against ranked opponents this season.
• In the first game of the season, Augustana took down the defending national champion and No. 1 ranked team in Central Oklahoma.

About Southeastern Oklahoma State
• Southeastern Oklahoma State University won the Central Region 2 Tournament last weekend getting to the championship game unbeaten before taking down Emporia State in the "if necessary" game on Sunday to advance to the Central Super Regional. 
• The Savage Storm defeated Minnesota State 5-3 in their opener before advancing to the championship with a 5-4 win over Central Oklahoma. 
• Needing just one more win to clinch the Central Region 2 Tournament, Southeastern lost 7-2 to Emporia State forcing the if necessary game which the Savage Storm won 6-2. 
• Southeastern Oklahoma State University enters the Central Super Regional with an overall record of 41-18. 
• The Savage Storm posted a 28-11 record in the Great American Conference to win the regular season championship. 
• Southeastern Oklahoma State is batting .300 as a team and has scored 309 runs while allowing 243 on the season. 
• As a team, Southeastern Oklahoma State has recorded 84 doubles, four triples and 35 home runs. 
• Jessica Simmons leads the Savage Strom batting .413 on the season with a team-high 19 doubles and 34 stolen bases. 
• Laramie Beal is batting .389 with 16 doubles, nine home runs and 46 RBI. 
• Sydney Kramer is batting .381 with 15 doubles, two triples and a team-high 51 RBI. 
• Mindy McElroy leads the pitching staff with a 2.59 ERA and a 27-10 record in the circle. 
• McElroy has made 42 appearances and tossed 16 complete games while striking out 59 batters in 221.1 innings pitched.
• Ron Faubion is in his 15th season as the head coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State. 
• Faubion spent 1997-2000 at SOSU before spending two seasons at Missouri Southern and one at Texas A&M Kingsville before returning to Southeastern Oklahoma State in 2004.   

Inside the series
• Augustana is 0-2 all-time against Southeastern Oklahoma State University. 
• The Vikings and Savage Storm played twice last season.
