SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana College football hits the road this Saturday for an in-state rivalry game against Northern State University. The Vikings (1-1) and the Wolves (1-1) will kick-off from Swisher Field at 5 p.m.
Augustana and Northern State will meet for the 35th time in a series that began in 1923. The Vikings are 27-6-1 all-time against NSU and have won nine straight games over the Wolves since 2004. Northern State's last win over the Vikings came on Sept. 6, 2003, a 24-21 victory. Augustana and Northern State last met in the season opener in 2012, a 35-14 victory by the Vikings at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.
Augustana is coming off a heartbreaking 23-22 overtime loss to then third-ranked Minnesota Duluth last Saturday. Northern State picked up a come-from-behind victory at Concordia-St. Paul last week where the Wolves returned an interception for a touchdown with 53 seconds left in the game to earn a 28-21 victory over the Golden Bears.
