SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - No. 21 Augustana (14-5, 7-4 NSIC) will be back at home today as they host the No. 6 Wildcats of Wayne State College at 7 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
The Vikings are coming off a road trip that saw them travel to No. 5 Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State. The Vikings were defeated by the Bulldogs in four-sets, but came away victorious on Saturday in four-sets against the Huskies of St. Cloud.
Augustana will enter the match Tuesday with a career record against Wayne State of 23-17-1. The Vikings upset Wayne State in Wayne, Neb. back on Sept. 22 when the Wildcats were ranked fifth in the country.
Augustana was was once again led by redshirt freshman
Lauren Waite, who posted a career, and team high, in kills with 21 against St. Cloud State. Joining Waite in posting career numbers was sophomore setter
Alex Banker who also posted a career and team high Saturday with 50 assists.
The Vikings dropped one spot this week in the AVCA Top-25 Poll to No. 21. This marks the 198th time in program history that the Vikings have been ranked inside the AVCA Top-25 poll.
Augustana holds the 2nd highest total in the Northern Sun Conference for total weeks ranked and are 13th nationally for total weeks spent in the poll.
