SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana University football team set single game records for total offense and points in its 76-21 regular season finale victory over Concordia-St. Paul (1-10, 0-7 NSIC South) in front of 3,226 fans at Kirkeby-Over Stadium on Saturday. Augustana entered the game ranked No. 22 in the D2football.com Top 25 Poll and fifth in the NCAA Super Region Three rankings.
The Vikings finish the regular season at 9-2 overall, including 6-1 in the NSIC South Division. At 6-1 in divisional play, Augustana earned a share of the NSIC South Division championship with Minnesota State. Augustana finished 6-0 in home games this season, marking the second undefeated season in Kirkeby-Over Stadium since it opened in 2009.
This marks just the second time in program history the Vikings have won nine or more games in a season. Augustana finished 11-2 in 2010 recording the most wins in program history.
Augustana finished the game with a single-game record 76 points and went off for a single-game record 751 yards of total offense. The Vikings have set a new single-season mark for total offense with 5,248 yards in 2015.
The Vikings had a lot of big individual performances in the win.
Trey Heid finished the game 24 of 32 passing for a career-high 479 yards and five touchdowns. Heid also ran for 81 yards and a touchdown finishing the game with 560 yards of total offense, which was just 13 yards shy of a single game record.
Heid has now thrown for a single-season record 3,317 yards in 2015.
Three players went over 1,000 yards on the season in today's game, including

Augustana finished the first half with 477 yards of total offense alone, including 363 yards through the air and 128 on the ground.
Matt Heller and
Charlie Hayes each had monster performances in the first half combining for 231 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
The Vikings got the ball first in the game but were forced to punt on their first possession. The defense answered by forcing the Golden Bears to go three-and-out and after one drive, the Vikings quickly came out firing. On the first scoring drive of the game, Augustana went 69 yards on six plays eventually scoring on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Heid to Hayes to put the Vikings in front 7-0 with 9:20 left in the first quarter.
CSP was able to move the ball into Augustana territory on its next drive but the Vikings held the Golden Bears at the 35-yard line where they pooched a punt for a touchback. Seven plays and 80 yards later, the Vikings took a 14-0 lead on a Hayes' second touchdown of the game, this time an 11-yard diving catch with a defender draped all over him.
The Golden Bears quickly made it a one score game when Alex Carr returned the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown to make the score 14-7 with 4:06 remaining in the first quarter. Just as quickly as the Golden Bears scored, the Vikings did as well. On the first play of the next drive, Heid hit Heller for a 60-yard touchdown pass putting Augustana back up by two scores at 21-7. Both touchdowns were scored in just 15 seconds.
That would not be all the scoring the first half would see as the Vikings jumped out to a 41-21 lead at the half following a
Lucas Wainman 21-yard field goal with no time on the clock. The Golden Bears scored with five seconds remaining in the half and
Justin Greenway returned a squib kick 69 yards to the CSP eight yard line. The Golden Bears were called for unsportsmanlike conduct on the return and the Vikings were given one untimed down and they used it for the field goal by Wainman.
Wainman finished the game 2 for 2 on field goal attempts, connecting from 21 and 25 yards. He was also a perfect 10 for 10 on PAT attempts and five touchbacks on 12 kickoffs.
It was all Augustana in the second half as the Vikings out-scored the Golden Bears 28-0 in the final two frames.
