SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The seventh seeded Vikings of Augustana will compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Volleyball Tournament for the first time since 2013 as they travel to Marshall, Minn. to take on the No. 2 seeded Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State Wednesday.
The Vikings have had little success in the conference tournament since they joined the league in 2008, getting swept in both prior appearances to date. The NSIC did not have a tournament from 2008-2011.
This will be the 55th all-time meeting between Augustana and Southwest Minnesota State with the all-time series tied at 27-27-1. This will be the second meeting of the season for the two programs. Southwest defeated Augustana 3-1 in Sioux Falls back on Sept. 17.
Augustana had two members of this year's squad selected to All-NSIC teams.
Ashley Wilson and
Tahlyr Banks each earned Second Team All-NSIC honors after stellar 2015 regular seasons.
The Vikings are in must win mode the rest of the way as they will need to win the NSIC Tournament to earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
The NSIC Volleyball Tournament will run Nov. 18, 21-22 with the highest remaining seed hosting the semifinals and finals. You can follow all the action live via Twitter
