SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana women's basketball team (8-2, 3-2 NSIC) saw their five game winning streak come to an end Saturday night, as they fell to NSIC foe, the University of Minnesota Crookston (6-3, 3-2 NSIC) 76-57 in their second game, of the two game road trip.
After a close first half, Vikings only trailed by just four at the break, the Golden Eagles clamped down on defense and held the Vikings to just 22 second half points. A 10-3, UMC run to open up the 4th quarter, put the game out of reach for Augustana.
Role ReversalIt is normally the Vikings that are shooting above 40 percent from behind the 3-point arc, but Saturday the tables were turned.
Minnesota Crookston out shot Augustana from deep, as they were 13-of-27, 48 percent from long range, compared to just 14 percent on 3-of-21 shooting for the Vikings.
This was just the second time all season that Augustana has been out shot from behind the arc.
