No. 2 Augustana men's basketball concludes four-game homestand this weekend

The Vikings welcome Southwest Minnesota State and USF on Friday and Saturday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 2 Augustana College men's basketball returns to the Sioux Falls Arena this Friday and Saturday to close-out a four-game homestand. The Vikings (23-1, 17-1 NSIC) open the weekend taking on Southwest Minnesota State (12-12, 8-10 NSIC) at 8 p.m. on Friday night before welcoming Sioux Falls (8-16, 5-13 NSIC) at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
 
The Vikings are currently riding a program-best 16-game win streak and enter the weekend in first place in the overall and South Division NSIC standings.
 
Storylines
• Augustana enters the weekend ranked No. 2 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll.
• The Vikings have spent 11 straight weeks in the NABC Top 25 poll, vaulting into the top five two weeks ago.
• The No. 2 ranking is the highest ranking in program history.  
• Augustana enters the weekend with a record of 23-1 on the season, including 17-1 in conference play.

Mayor's Cup Challenge

• The Mayor's Cup Challenge is an annual head-to-head competition between the Augustana and USF athletic departments and their fans which pits 16 common, equally weighted sports to determine which school and their fan base can claim bragging rights for that year.
• Augustana has won the point-based competition two straight seasons.
• The 2014-15 First Dakota National Bank Mayor's Cup Challenge is currently tied at 3-3.
