SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana men's basketball, the South Division's No. 1 seed, continues play in the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament with a semifinal match-up with North Division No. 2 seed Northern State at 8 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon. The Vikings, ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Central Region and No. 6 in the NABC Top 25 national poll, enter tonight's game at 28-2 on the season after knocking off Minnesota Duluth 71-62 on Sunday night.
Northern State (21-7) defeated Concordia-St. Paul 68-58 last night to advance to the semifinals. Augustana and Northern State will meet in the NSIC Tournament for the third straight season, but the first on a neutral floor. The Vikings bounced the Wolves from the conference tournament in 2013 and 2014, both times at Wachs Arena.
Augustana and Northern State will meet for the second time this season. The Vikings defeated Northern State 98-87 on Feb. 6 at the Sioux Falls Arena. Augustana and Northern State will meet for the 68th time since 1923. The Vikings lead the all-time series 36-31 over Northern State and have won 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two teams.
