SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - No. 22 Augustana (11-2, 4-1) capped off a busy week with their third win, and second sweep in as many nights, Saturday over the 22nd ranked Warriors of Winona State (7-5, 1-4) 33-31, 25-20, 25-18.
Set one was a wild one for both the Warriors and the Vikings. A back and forth affair that neither team wanted to take control of. The Vikings took the early lead but Winona State battled back before junior
Anna Sykora, came up with set winning kill.
Augustana settled in after a wild set one, and jumped out to a quick 14-7 lead. The Warriors made a run late, scoring six quick points to pull within three before Augustana earned the final two points to take the set 25-20.
Set three was much of the same for the Vikings. They got the early lead and were able to hold strong before pulling away late to defeat Winona State 25-18 and securing their second sweep in as many nights.
Augustana's
Dani Magdzas followed up her 15 kill performance Friday, with another 13 kills Saturday night. Magdzas currently leads the Vikings in total kills with 130. Junior
Ivy Pearson, had another solid night with 12 kills while senior
Sydney Hunsley added 11. The Vikings had 58 kills as a team.
Sophomore
Tahlyr Banks led the Vikings for the 13th straight game in digs, with 19. Junior
Brittany Cech added 18 and Pearson had 16 of the team's 67.

Alex Banker and junior
Anna Sykora were neck-and-neck in assists as they had 26 and 25 respectively. Banks had four assists as well.
Augustana had five service aces as a team, while being led by Banker and sophomore
Ashley Wilson who each had two. Pearson added one ace of her own.
Augustana will be on the road next weekend as they travel to Concordia-St. Paul Friday, Oct. 3 and Minnesota State Saturday, Oct. 4. the match between the Vikings and Golden Bears will begin at 7 p.m. while the match against the Mavericks is set for 4 p.m.
