SIOUX FALLS. S.D. - The Augustana women's basketball team (13-4, 7-4 NSIC) fell to St. Cloud State (9-6, 8-3 NSIC) Friday night in the Sioux Falls Arena 81-71 in a game that seemed like two completely different halves.

The Vikings came out of the locker room as the aggressor on both offense and defense, holding SCSU to just 7 percent shooting from the field in the first quarter and slowly built their lead to 18-points, the largest of the game, with five minutes to play in the first half. But in the second half, the Huskies became the aggressor.

In the second half there wasn't much the Viking defense could do to slow down the Huskies, who shot 60 percent in the third-quarter, and an unheard of 66 percent in the fourth-quarter. For every shot that Augustana knocked down, St. Cloud State was able to answer with a triple. They shot 70 percent from behind the arc in the second half.

AUGUSTANA BY THE NUMBERS
• The Vikings were led in scoring by So. Logan O'Farrell who had 22-points on 8-of-14 shooting. O'Farrell was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line
• Sr. Nicole Kerkhoff was the only other Viking to score in double figures with 13
• RFr. Shelby Selland led the team in rebounds with eight rebounds. Selland had two on offense and six on defense. Her eight rebounds was one off her career-high set back on Jan. 2
• Augustana shot 38 percent from the field on 26-of-67 shooting
• The Vikings shot 40 percent from behind the 3-point arc on 9-of-22 shooting
• Augustana shot 76 percent from the free-throw line on 10-of-13 shooting from the line
• The Vikings outscored the Huskies in the paint (30-28) and in fast break points (13-8)
• St. Cloud State had 16 points off turnovers compared to Augustana's 15
• The Vikings were outscored on second chance points, 9-6

Augustana will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they host Minnesota Duluth. Tip-off for their contest against the Bulldogs is set for 4 p.m.
