WINONA, Minn. - The Vikings of Augustana (14-5, 8-5) fell on the road Friday night 73-47 at the hands of the No. 14 Warriors of Winona State (18-2, 11-2 NSIC) inpart to a slow first quarter.
Augustana started off slow, and fell behind early in the first-quarter, being held to just six-points offensively. The Vikings gave up 27-points in the first quarter but their defense found a groove late, holding the Warriors to just two points in the final three minutes of the quarter. The defense continued to play well into the second-quarter, as both teams played well. The Warriors only outscored Augustana in 16-14 in the second-quarter.
By the time the second-half started it was already too late for the Vikings. Both teams struggled offensively in the third-quarter, as there were only 17 total points scored, seven for Augustana and 10 for Winona State. The Vikings were able to outscore the Warriors in the fourth-quarter 20-19, but the lead was to much late.
AUGUSTANA BY THE NUMBERS• Augustana shot just 22 percent in the first half compared to 28 percent in the second half. For the game they shot 26 percent on 19-of-73 shooting

Lynsey Prosser was the only Viking to reach double-figures, Prosser scored 10-points of the bench
• Augustana was only able to get the the free-throw six times against Winona State. They made two of their six free-throws
• The Vikings were outscored in the paint for the fifth time this season after being outscored 14-32 against Winona State
• The Vikings outscored the Warriors bench 23-9
NEXT TIME OUTThe Vikings will be on the road once again tomorrow night as they travel to Upper Iowa to take on the Peacocks Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
