Strong third-quarter ignites the Vikings comeback

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -  Augustana University (16-5, 10-5 NSIC) made 10, 3-pointers as they battled back thanks to a strong third-quarter to defeat the University of Mary (11-12, 5-10 NSIC) 85-73 Saturday afternoon at the Sioux Falls Arena.

After a strong first-half from U-Mary, they shot 51 percent in the half and ended the second-quarter on a 22-6 run, it was an electric third-quarter for the Vikings that propelled them to victory.

The Vikings outscored the Marauders 28-14 in the third.

The Vikings took their first lead since the first-quarter when Peterson found Rome for a triple to make the score 56-54. From the point on the Viking never looked back. They shot 50 percent from the field in the fourth-quarter and 66 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
