Vikings set for NSIC Tournament semifinal match-up against Winona State tonight

Augustana and Winona State will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Division No. 1 seed Augustana University (26-2) will take on South Division No. 3 seed Winona State (16-12) in the semifinals of the NSIC/Sanford Health Men's Basketball Tournament on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon.
 
Augustana, ranked No. 4 in the NABC Top 25 Poll and No. 1 in the NCAA Central Region rankings, advanced to the semifinals with a 105-100 win over the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday night. The Vikings opened up the tournament with a 91-57 win over Minnesota Crookston.
 
Augustana is 9-6 all-time in NSIC Tournament play and is the defending NSIC/Sanford Health Men's Basketball Tournament Champions after winning the program's first conference tournament championship last season.
 
Augustana is riding a seven-game winning streak entering tonight's game. The Vikings are averaging 91.8 points per game after putting up 100-plus points for the sixth time this season on Monday. Augustana has the second-highest scoring margin in the country in 2015-16, out-scoring opponents by 19.3 points per game. The Vikings are shooting 50.7 percent from the field, including 42.6 percent from 3-point range.
 
Augustana hit a season-high 34 free throws in Saturday's win over USF, finishing the game shooting a season-high 82.9 percent from the stripe. Seniors Daniel Jansen and Casey Schilling were a combined 21 of 25 from the free throw line in the win over the Cougars.
 
Jansen, a 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward from Orange City, Iowa, registered his second 31-point performance of the season in Saturday's win over USF. Jansen was 9 of 13 from the field, with a 3-pointer and 10 of 12 from the free throw line. Jansen has scored 30-plus points in a game six times in his career.
 
Schilling filled every single category on the stat sheet in the win over USF finishing with 26 points, nine rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block. Schilling, who was named the MVP of the NSIC Tournament a season ago, is averaging 17 points, nine rebounds, 2.0 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks through two NSIC Tournament games this season.
 
Sophomore guard Jordan Spencer registered his fourth 20-plus point performance of the season in Saturday's win over USF. Spencer finished with 22 points, four assists and four rebounds to help the Vikings past the Cougars.
 
Monday night's game will be aired live on Midco Sports Network channels 26 (SD) and 622 (HD).
