Men's basketball set for NSIC Tournament title game against MSU Moorhead

Augustana and MSU Moorhead will tip-off at 5 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon in the NSIC Tournament Championship game

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University men's basketball (27-2), the No. 1 seed out of the South Division, is set to take on North Division No. 1 seed MSU Moorhead (30-4) in the NSIC/Sanford Health Men's Basketball Tournament Championship game at the Sanford Pentagon tonight at 5 p.m.
 
Augustana, ranked No. 4 in the NABC Top 25 Poll and No. 1 in the NCAA Central Region rankings, will play MSU Moorhead in the NSIC Tournament title game for the second straight season. The Vikings will seek their second straight NSIC Tournament Championship when the two teams square-off at the Sanford Pentagon tonight. Augustana defeated MSU Moorhead 98-82 in last year's tournament championship game.
 
Tonight's game will be the second meeting between the Vikings and Dragons this season. Augustana picked up a 94-86 win over MSU Moorhead on Feb. 6 in Moorhead, Minn.
 
Augustana is 10-6 all-time in the NSIC Tournament entering tonight's game. The Vikings are currently riding an eight-game winning streak and are averaging 91.5 points per game on the season which ranks seventh in the country. In three NSIC Tournament games, The Vikings are averaging 93 points per game while allowing a tournament-low 73 points per contest.
 
MSU Moorhead ranks just behind Augustana in scoring amongst NSIC teams. The Dragons have averaged 88.8 points per game on the season and are shooting 50.5 percent from the field.
 
The Vikings advanced to the NSIC Tournament Championship following Monday night's 83-62 win over Winona State. Augustana used a 14-0 run at the midway point of the second half and forced the Warriors into 10 second-half turnovers to earn its second straight NSIC Tournament Championship berth.
 
Tonight's game will be aired live on Midco Sports Network channels 26 (SD) and 622 (HD).
