BISMARCK, N.D. - Augustana softball (17-10, 4-1 NSIC) ended their weekend road trip with a victory over the University of Mary (6-16, 0-3 NSIC) as Maggie Kadrlik drove in six runs for Augustana in their 14-3 victory over the Marauders. Game two was canceled due to snow.

The University of Mary scored first, putting up two runs in the first inning on a 2-run home run from Taylor Mendez but Augustana's Carly Pickett shut down U-Mary the rest of the way. Pickett pitched a complete game giving up eight hits three runs, striking out five.

Augustana took the lead in the third inning scoring three runs on three hits. Morgan Beaner started the inning off with a home run to right field. The Vikings followed that up with Abby Chandler, Carly Peterson and Pickett each reaching base before Sarah Kennedy and Kadrlik eached picked up an RBI.

The Vikings scored one run in the fourth when Carly Peterson singled to the left side scoring Beaner. Augustana added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings. The Vikings scored four runs in the sixth, the first on Beaners second home run of the afternoon. Pickett doubled in the inning scoring one and Kadrlik hit a 2-run home run.

In the seventh inning Carly Peterson singled up the middle scoring two and Kennedy singled through the right side scoring one. Kadrlik earned three more RBIs when she hit a 3-run home run to left center and giving the Vikings a 14-3 win of U-Mary

Augustana will be on the road once again for a Tuesday contest against the Peacocks of Upper Iowa. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
