No. 18/17 Augustana set to host Minnesota Crookston for 45th Annual Shrine Game

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 18/17 Augustana University football (2-0) returns home this Saturday, Sept. 17, to host Minnesota Crookston (0-2) in the 45th Annual Shrine Game. Opening kickoff for Saturday's cross-divisional clash is set for 1 p.m. at Kirkeby-Over Stadium.
 
Saturday's game is also Military Appreciation Day at Augustana. Attendees with a valid military ID will be admitted to the game free of charge.
 
Augustana enters the game with a record of 2-0 on the season as the Vikings will play the third of their four games against a NSIC North Division opponent. The Vikings picked up their first road win of the season last weekend with a 63-0 win over the University of Mary.
 
Augustana is averaging a league-leading 50.0 points per game through two games in 2016. The Vikings have averaged 504.5 yards of total offense per game and currently have the 19th-best passing attack in the country averaging 320.5 yards per game.
 
Saturday's contest will be the sixth all-time meeting between Augustana and Minnesota Crookston. The Vikings are 5-0 all-time against the Golden Eagles. Augustana has won by shutout in four straight games against Minnesota Crookston and has out-scored the Golden Eagles 243-7 in the five previous meetings combined.
