No. 25 Augustana set to host No. 12 USF in battle for the "Key to the City"

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 25/24 Augustana University football (3-1) returns to Kirkeby-Over Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 1 to host No. 12/12 Sioux Falls (4-0) in the Fifth Annual "Key to the City" game. The Vikings and Cougars will compete for the "Key to the City" traveling trophy, which currently resides at Augustana after the Vikings defeated USF 35-28 on the road last season.
 
Kickoff for Saturday's game between the Vikings and the Cougars is set for 1:05 p.m. The game will be aired live on MidcoSN2.
 
Saturday will be the second event of the First Dakota National Bank Mayor's Cup Challenge of the 2016-17 school year. The First Dakota National Bank Mayor's Cup Challenge is a head-to-head competition in 16 common, equally weighted sports at each school with each victory earning points towards the overall series championship. The Mayor's Cup Challenge also recognizes academic success and community engagement. Fans can help their favorite school earn a point in the Mayor's Cup Challenge as well.
 
Augustana and USF are taking donations of NEW socks which will be donated to Samaritan's Feet. Fans can drop the new socks in the baskets for their respective teams prior to Saturday's game. For more information on the First Dakota National Bank Mayor's Cup Challenge, visit SFMayorscup.com.
 
Augustana is coming off of hard-fought 41-38 loss at No. 21 Minnesota Duluth last week. The Cougars snuck past No. 22 Bemidji State at home a week ago.
 
The Vikings enter Saturday's game leading the NSIC and ranked third in the country averaging 48.5 points per game. Augustana has put up 497.3 yards of offense in 2016, which ranks sixth in the conference and 20th in the country. USF is averaging 42.2 points per game and currently leads the NSIC averaging 569.5 yards of offense per game.
