SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The 15th-ranked Augustana volleyball team dropped their second consecutive match, 3-0, to 17th-ranked Winona State Friday night at the Elmen Center.
The Warriors took set one, 25-16, set two, 26-24 and set three 25-20.
With the loss, the Vikings fall to 17-7 overall and 8-6 in conference play.
"It was a tough loss tonight," head coach
Jennifer Jacobs said. "We couldn't quite get our offense going as we usually do. We just have to bounce back tomorrow."
Junior
Courtney Place had the only double-double on the night for Augustana. The Okabena, Minn. native tallied 17 digs and 11 kills.
Senior setter
Alex Banker assisted the Vikings on 34 of the 40 team kills while adding six digs.
Tahlyr Banks, a senior libero from Omaha, Neb. muscled up 20 digs for the Vikings.
As a team Augustana hit .163 on the night compared to Winona State's .274.
The Warriors improve to 15-7 overall and 9-5 in the NSIC.
The Vikings return to action Saturday when they host Upper Iowa at 2 p.m. in the Elmen Center
