SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Riding a three-match win streak into the weekend, the 17th-ranked Augustana volleyball team looks to get back to .500 in conference play and improve on their 12-5 overall record as the Vikings travel to Minot State on Friday and U-Mary on Saturday. Friday's match starts at 5 p.m. while Saturday's begins at 2 p.m.

Each of Augustana's last three wins came in straight sets, bringing the Vikings sweep total to seven on the season.

Junior Courtney Place paces Augustana with a team-leading 235 kills. The 235 kills from the Okabena, Minn. native ranks second in the NSIC and 16th nationally. Place averages just under four kills per set.

Middle blockers Ashley Wilson and Bailey Koch each have 57 total blocks on the season, which ranks fifth in the NSIC. Wilson, a senior from Sioux Falls, S.D., leads the team with a 0.338 hitting percentage and is third on the team with 145 kills, which ranks 15th in the conference. Her hitting percentage ranks the Sioux Falls Roosevelt product inside the top-10 in the NSIC.

On Friday, Sep. 22 at St. Cloud State, senior libero Tahlyr Banks became the Vikings all-time leader in digs. The Omaha, Neb. native broke Abby Schmidt's record of 2,004 digs in 431 sets. Banks currently has 2,093 digs in 405 sets.

Minot State, which carries a 3-12 overall record into this Friday's match with Augustana, is seeking its first conference win of the season and looking to snap an 11-match losing streak.

Outside hitter Shelby Spuller leads the Beavers in total kills. The sophomore from Dexter, Mich. has tallied 189 kills in 2017, a mark that ranks eighth in the NSIC.

Libero Karli Koza's 258 digs leads Minot State and ranks sixth in the conference.

The U-Mary Marauders are 5-11 overall with a 1-6 record in conference play. The Marauders, who are currently on a 4-match losing streak, picked up their lone conference win, 3-1, at Minot State earlier this season.

Lauren Randall has notched 232 kills on the season. The 232 kills from the senior outside hitter ranks third in the NSIC and 19th nationally. The Burnsville, Minn. native ranks fourth in the conference in total attacks and second in the NSIC in kills per set.

Junior setter Amanda Lopez ranks 11th in the conference in total assists.

The Vikings are 9-0 all-time vs. Minot State. Six of the nine wins have been straight sets. Last season, Augustana defeated the Beavers 3-0 in Sioux Falls, and 3-0 in Minot.

Augustana is 15-0 all-time vs. U-Mary. In the 15 Viking wins over the Marauders, only one match lasted longer than three sets.
