WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Augustana soccer team (14-4-5) saw its season come to an end on Sunday afternoon as the Vikings fell to No. 1 seed Central Missouri (22-0-0), 3-0, in Warrensburg, Mo.
The Vikings advanced to the the NCAA second round for the second time in school history (2015) and hung with the No. 1 team in the country until the end.
Central Missouri scored its first two goals off of headers in the 32nd minute and the 48th minute and capped off the scoring with a third goal in the last minute of the match.
Samantha Tymkowicz led the Vikings with three shots and fellow senior
Courtney Almendinger had two.
Claire Dahm had the other shot for Augustana.
Taylor Machacek finished the match with 11 saves.
The Viking senior class will leave Augustana as one of the most prolific classes in school history with a four-year record of 60-18-9 and three trips to the NCAA tournament.
