MOORHEAD, MINN. -- On a cloudy and cold afternoon in Moorhead, MN the Augustana Vikings (9-3-2, 8-2-1 NSIC) dominated the Dragons of MSU Moorhead (3-10-0, 3-8-0 NSIC) with two goals in the first half by senior
Rebekah Thoresen.
Claudia Pueschner earned her 8th shutout of the season, making 4 saves to keep the Dragons off the board.
"I felt like our overall effort and attitude to stick to our game plan this weekend was good," stated Barkus. "We made a few adjustments to our system and the team really bought in to it."
The Vikings offense got started in the 17th minute when
Lauren Brownrigg took a shot right outside the box that was mishandled by Dragons goalkeeper Kayleigh Sedlacek and
Rebekah Thoresen crashed the goal to tap it in and make it 1-0.
Augustana kept it rolling in the 30th minute when Thoresen finished a cross by sophomore
Skylar Moen, making it 2-0. That marked Moen's second assist on the year and Thoresen's third goal.
The Vikings outshot the Dragons 33-13 and earned ten corner kicks to the Dragon's three.
