Ashley Mickschl tossed a two-hit shutout and junior
Maggie Kadrlik knocked in the game's lone run, as the Augustana softball team hung on for a 1-0 win over Millersville at the PFX Spring Games for the Vikings 13th consecutive win.
Augustana improves to 14-4 on the season, while the Marauders fall to 8-5.
Mickschl went the distance for the Vikings, giving up just two hits, with one walk and nine strikeouts to improve to 5-2 on the season. Her counterpart for the Marauders, Cassidy Pinchorski also pitched a complete game, scattering five hits with three walks and two strikeouts, surrendering just the one run.
Scoreless into the fourth,
Kylie Rome drew a two-out walk to get things started.
Shannon Petersen came up next and singled through the left side, which brought up Kadrlik, who singled to left field, which scored Rome for the game's only run.
Mickschl took care of the rest, and did not give up a hit over the final four innings to secure the win.
The Vikings look to make it 14 in-a-row on Wednesday night, when they close the tournament against Illiniois Springfield.
