BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Augustana volleyball libero Erika Bute has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Monday. The Alden, Minnesota, native helped the Vikings go 3-0 over the week and extend their win streak to seven wins. 

The freshman averaged 5.2 digs per set in wins over Sioux Falls, UMary and Minot State. She racked up 56 total digs including 36 against Minot State which was one short of tying her season-high of 37. Bute also added in five assists and four aces on the week.  

On the season, she ranks second in the NSIC with 5.48 digs per set and ranks 27th in the nation. 

The Vikings host No. 7 Northern State on Friday at 6 p.m. and MSU Moorhead on Saturday at 5 p.m.
