Augustana Golf Places Sixth in California

The Vikings shot a two-round score of +75 (651)

PALM DESERT, Calif. -- The Augustana women's golf team opened up their spring schedule in California at the Augustana Spring Fling this past Thursday and Friday. The Vikings placed sixth as a team with a two-round score of +75 (651).

Individually, the Vikings had four place in the top-25 with everyone having a strong round. Hannah Hankinson placed third at +9 (153) to lead Augustana individually. McKayla Poppens tied for 11th place as she shot a +16 (160) and Kait Asklund played as an individual and shot 21-over par (165) for 23rd place. Alex Stone placed 28th with a two-day score of 166 for 22-over par, Annemarie Fisher placed 38th with a score of 172 and 28-over par.

Rounding out the two-day tournament was Hanna Morin, Natalie Young and Sydney Weber. Morin and Young played as individuals while Weber was apart of the team scoring. Morin shot a 176 good enough for 46th place and 32-over par while Young shot a 177 for 47th place and 33-over par. Weber shot a +40 for the Vikings and placed 50th with a total score of 184.

Augustana is back in action at the Jennies Golf Invite in Warrensburg, Mo. on Monday, March 25th through Tuesday, March 26th.
