MINNETONKA, Minn. -- The No. 1 seeded Augustana Vikings tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament on Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 victory over the No. 8 seed Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs. The match was over once the Vikings earned the clinching fourth team point.

Augustana will face U-Mary in the semifinals on Sunday morning at Lifetime Fitness at 8 a.m.

The Vikings swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point and make the score 1-0 Augustana. The No. 9 ranked doubles duo of Kornelia Staniszewska and Laura Arce Vieyra took down Hannah Starke and Daniela Flores 6-2 while Anca Rusu and Taylor Jackson defeated Paige Janka and Cora Delich 6-1. Annika Teske and Grace Goble picked up the No. 3 Doubles win with a 6-3 victory over Olivia Watzke and Gabby Potthoff.

Goble earned the second team point with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Watzke in No. 4 Singles and No. 26 Staniszewska picked up the 6-0, 6-0 victory over Fatima Murphy to earn the third point to make the score 3-0, Vikings. Rebecca Falkner earned the final point for Augustana on the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Hanna Himmelman in No. 6 Singles to secure the  4-0 win for the Vikings.

Augustana also led in the No. 2 and 5 singles but those matches were unfinished as a result of the Vikings clinching the match.
